Albert Chain & Intaglio Fob Seal 9ct Gold Georgian 1833

This is a Georgian 1833 9ct gold seal fob with a 9ct gold Albert chain. The seal is carved in black onyx and depicts a Roman hero or God, possibly Minerva or Mars.It is a very attractive heavy piece and it is in excellent condition.The fob has a crown with a George cross mounted on top. The crown sits on a stylised cushion and the whole piece is 30mm tall.The carved onyx stone letter seal measures 21mm x 11mm and is in perfect condition.The Albert chain measures 36cm in length and the 'T' bar (which has a couple of tiny nicks) has a hexagonal shape and is patterned.The chain is strong and secure although it shows signs of continuous wear which is to be expected.The dog clip is in full working order. The complete item weighs 25.91 grammes.
