1930's Egyptian Brooch

£80.00

This brooch was made during the 1920s to early 1930s during the excavation of Armana, the city built by the husband of Nefertiti, Akhenaten. There was a great deal of public interest and Nefertiti became famous, inspiring ancient Egyptian styles into art and jewellery. The centre piece of the brooch depicts Nefertiti surrounded by the three pyramids, the sphinx and other ancient Egyptian symbols. The brooch measures 43mm diameter and weighs 22.3 grams. It is stamped on the pin and the outer rim but the marking are undistinguishable and probably foreign silver.
